How to Improve Search Engine Ranking

One of the most common questions that Internet marketers have is how to improve search engine ranking for their websites. It doesn’t seem to matter whether the marketers are new to the Internet, or seasoned veterans. The lure of free search engine traffic is strong, and the secret to high rankings is mysterious.

Part of the problem with improving search engine ranking is that the techniques that work well one year, don’t seem to work well the next year. As a result, search engine optimization is a moving target. If your strategy isn’t right on the money, your website simply never receives any visitors.

However, there is a straightforward way to improve search engine ranking.

It combines “evergreen” strategies – that is, strategic elements that have always worked well and will continue to work well – with the latest twists that Google, Yahoo and MSN are looking for.

First, remember that the purpose of search engines is to return useful, relevant results for keywords that are searched-for. Always remember that. Anything that deviates from providing this fundamental element of value will ultimately be defeated by the search engines.

So, how does the search engine determine what pages to display?

The first thing to consider is what keywords are being searched-for. If search results are displayed as a result of keywords being typed in to the engines, then it stands to reason that creating your pages around certain profitable keywords is vital in order to appear in the search results.

So, step 1 is to find a list of keywords that your customers are typing in to the search engines. You then need to go through that list and choose only the keywords that have a relatively small number of competing websites. (Like under 1000, and certainly not more than 100,000).

Step 2 is to subdivide your keyword list into groups of keywords that are all thematically related. That is, that all match a certain theme. This is one of the newest elements that search engines are looking for now: strong theme relevance. So, having small sub-groups of keywords related to certain themes is vital.

The next thing to consider is the content on the web pages. We already know that the pages have to be created around certain keywords. Ideally, one main keyword should set the “theme” for each page. However, the content on that page needs to provide some value.

The content needs to be something the search engines would be “proud” to return in their list of results. That may sound corny, but the truth is that weak content or content that is automatically-generated or stolen from other websites tends to make the search engines look bad. And when they look bad, they lose visitors, and that’s bad for business. So they are going to be motivated to get rid of weak content in their results list.

So, step 3 is to create a website with good content, but one that is constructed carefully in order to preserve the “theme” of each page. In other words, when you create your website, the main index page should link to a small number (like less than 10) main theme pages, and each of those pages should link to some number of thematically-related pages (from the sort of keywords we discussed in step 2). Each of those thematically-related pages can link to each other or another one of the same theme.

At all times, the theme must be kept “clean”. That is, there should not be any links on any of those pages to pages that are not within the established theme. If you do link out to non-theme-related pages, these links dilute the strength of the theme and this causes your search engine ranking to suffer.

Finally, step 4 is to gather inbound links to your main theme pages from reputable, relevant websites. Link exchanges are somewhat useful (although reciprocal (2-way) links are less useful than they once were), but one-way inbound links are idea.

You can get inbound one-way links in a number of ways, but three exceptionally useful ways are by writing and distributing articles with links to your theme pages, by creating and submitting press releases with links to your theme pages, and by submitting your website to directories.

And that’s all there is to it. There are really only those four steps to be concerned with, and they’re not terribly mysterious.

Let me quickly recap:

Step 1 – Find keywords that are not too competitive

Step 2 – Subdivide keywords into theme groups

Step 3 – Create website with good content and theme-focused linking

Step 4 – Gather inbound links to your theme pages

That really is the extent of it, and it really does work. When you set out to improve search engine ranking, the most important thing is that you get started. Plan your strategy according to the four steps we discussed here, but then get started. It takes a bit of time before the search engines index your site, but when they do you’ll be delighted with the steady flow of free traffic to your website.

How To Achieve Improved Search Engine Rank

How To Achieve Improved Search Engine Rank

Improved search engine rank can lead to high listings in search engine indices. The major page rank measurement is the Google PageRank that you find on the Google toolbar, but many people are confused at the difference between PageRank and search engine rankings, or listing positions, in the indices for specific keywords.

Google PageRank is a measurement of the linking density and efficiency between websites. If your website has a high Google PageRank it indicates that you have succeeded in winning in the linking wars.

Internal Links are Important

The way that you improve your Google PageRank is to get as many sites as possible linking to your site, and reduce as far as you can the number of links you provide to other sites. This applies to internal as well as external sites. Yes, read that again! This applies equally to links between pages on your own website as it does between pages on your website and those on another website.

There are ways that you can design your own internal links to provide chosen pages on your site with significantly higher PageRank than on others. I would suggest, however, that the page you choose for the highest rank is your home, or index page.

The higher PageRank you have, it is said that the higher listing in the search engines you will have because your site will be considered more relevant or important than those of lower PageRank sites that have fewer sites linking to them. What you must consider, however, is whether or not you feel confident of attaining a large number (thousands) of links from other web pages.

Page Rank is not the same as Index Listing

On the other hand, others associate the term ‘search engine rank’ with ‘search engine listing’. It is said that the way to get a high search engine listing for a keyword is to get as many links back to your site as possible, but what matters is the quality of these links, not the number of them. You don’t need a PR 7 or 8 webpage to reach the top 10 in Google or any of the other major engines.

What you really need is good search engine optimization. Not just one or two changes to your website, such as using H1 tags and the like, but a major reconstruction to really make your site attractive to spiders. This takes knowledge to achieve, which is why so many people can work hard for months but never get their site listed, let alone in the top 10 results.

You also need good, well written content that is relevant to the keyword of the page and is written naturally. Google’s LSI algorithm can distinguish between naturally written, useful content designed for interested readers and a page that has been written only for the search engine spiders.

Some find it Easy and Others find it Hard

A listing on a search engine such as Google can be difficult to achieve for some, yet effortless for others who know how to get their sites listed without even submitting them to search engines. If I got paid 0 for every site I got listed on Google within a day or two, as some SEO sites charge for achieving it in a week or two, then I too might be an internet guru.

All you need to have is the knowledge of how to do it, and therein lies the answer to speedy and high search engine listings: knowledge.

Main reason is probably to protect search engine data for using in unacceptable way.

There is a lot of SEO Company with bad intentions and internet is not perfect place any more.

Recently, after 5 months with no updates Google start with updates again.

Try to use this link building method:

-exchange your link with others,

-submit your link to link directories,

-write your own article with back links and submit to article directories or article distribution service,

-write comments or forum topics with your back links,

-syndicate your site,

If you use article marketing or article writing for back links you must write your article to article directory or article distribution service.

Search Engine Rankings – My Secrets for Getting Almost Instant High Search Engine Rankings

Search Engine Rankings – My Secrets for Getting Almost Instant High Search Engine Rankings

One of the top problems webmasters face is getting into the search engines quick and ranking well. The reason is that they over complicate things and thus even risked being delisted from the search engines because of these complicated, blackhat methods.

The main component of good Search Engine Optimization is to gain quality backlinks.

Here is a quick and easy way, which you can accomplish in one hour, to allow you to appear in Google’s search engine quickly:

Step One Create a blog at all these places – Blogger.com, WordPress.com, MySpace.com, Spaces.msn.com, Tripod.com, Pages.google.com

Step Two Post some useful content on all these pages, then post one link back to your site.

Step Three Ping all these blogs at these places – Pingomatic.com, Pingoat.com, Pingtheempire.com.

Step Four Watch your site appear in Google’s rankings in as little as one week!

Step Five Post to your blogs once every two or three weeks to give it fresh content that the search engines will love.

This system is a surefire way to get listed quickly. You are leveraging on the high Pagerank (the algorithm which Google uses to judge sites) of those blog sites and getting backlinks to your site, which are the key to getting ranked well on search engines. Each backlink acts as a sort of vote to your site. If you take a look at Blogger.com’s Alexa ranking, it is one of the top-ranked sites in the world. Instead of waiting months to get listed, do it in one week!

You know, getting high rankings on websites like Google, Yahoo and MSN does not require a rocket science degree. Far from it. Search engine optimization is simple. Far too many people try to complicate things and the truth is, things are much more simple.

There are only two things you need to work on when trying to get higher search engine rankings – the number of quality backlinks you have, and the content on your website. That’s it. It really comes down to that.

How do you build quality backlinks? Well there are a number of simple ways that I do this. One is I submit articles with my website link in the resource box to popular article directories. Not only do you get traffic directly from the articles, you get high quality backlinks because article directories are seen as authority sites by many search engines like Google.

Another way is to simply exchange links with other website owners. Do a search for ‘link exchange forums’ or simple ‘link exchange’ and you’ll find some useful links you can start of with. Exchanging links with other webmasters is a great way to build links quickly. Just contact five website owners a day and you will start getting more reciprocal links than you can handle.

Keep the content on your website focused on the reader. Don’t try to fool the search engines. Do optimize your meta tag titles, descriptions and keywords. Those are the most important parts of your onsite search engine optimization.

How To Improve Google Page Rank

August 23rd, 2010

How To Improve Google Page Rank

One of the first things you should do is aim to increase the number of backlinks that you have pointing to your website. This fact alone can increase your link popularity and ultimately increase your PR.. Combined with that is the fact that the more back links you have pointing back your website for more potential traffic you will get from it.

Google’s page rank system has indeed added a very interesting twist on the whole search engine optimization (SEO) game. SEO is no longer what it used to be and for the most part it is grossly misunderstood. On-site optimization, these days, count for very little. It all boils down to off-site optimization and this is where page rank (PR) comes in.

Page Rank (PR) is an algorithm used by Google to compute the relative importance of a particular webpage on the internet and assign it a numeric value from 0 (least important) to 10 (most important). This value is calculated through an iterative analysis of the backlinks to the webpage. If webpage A links to webpage B then webpage B would receive 1 “vote” towards their page rank.

If you are wanting to obtain a higher page rank in the least possible amount of time your best option is to run a Google search using the keywords for your website. Take note of the top page of results, then, visit the high ranking web pages one by one. Write to the webmasters and ask if you can participate in a link exchange.

The “actual” Page Rank values of URLs on the web are very fluid. They are constantly being updated as Google’s spiders crawl the web discovering new pages, finding that old pages no longer exist or have been moved, discovering new links on existing pages, finding that old links have been removed from existing pages, etc.

The more votes that are cast for a web site page, the more important the page becomes. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines the overall importance the vote. Google calculates a page’s importance from the votes cast for it, it is the vote of trust. How important each vote is taken into account when a webpage’s PageRank is calculated.

So, has Google Page Rank killed off SEO: absolutely not, and good search engine optimization on your web pages will provide you with a higher listing that if you relied purely on links. My reason for this belief is my own experience in getting rapid high listings in the major search engines when my website is correctly designed and optimized.

Search engine rank can be improved by intelligent use of links, both external and internal, but Google Page Rank does not have the profound effect on your search engine listing that many have led you to believe. Good onsite SEO usually wins so keep that in mind when designing your website.

Google Page Rank uses incoming links to your web page to determine your web page’s importance and credibility. The number of incoming links is important but is not the only factor. The site from which the link originates is also important.
